Acute Myeloid Leukemia is a blood cancer characterized by the rapid proliferation of immature and abnormal white blood cells in the bone marrow. Symptoms may include fatigue, infections, and a tendency to bleed. AML can progress quickly if left untreated. Treatment usually involves intensive chemotherapy and, in some cases, stem cell transplantation.
